Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Jawan was moved from June to September on Saturday, causing quite a bit of disruption in the 2023 cinema schedule. The untitled Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan movie has taken over the June 2 time slot that had previously been allocated for Jawan. The Richa Chadha comedy movie has been postponed to November since Jawan is scheduled to hit theatres on September 7 and might compete with Fukrey 3.
On May 16, Vicky’s birthday, the title of the movie she and Sara are making will be revealed. Taran Adarsh, a film industry analyst, shared the new release dates for Vicky and Richa’s respective projects not long after Shah Rukh announced the revised Jawan release date. Taran tweeted on Saturday night, “VICKY KAUSHAL – SARA ALI KHAN: 2 JUNE RELEASE… Producer Dinesh Vijan’s #VickyKaushal – #SaraAliKhan starrer to release on 2 June 2023… Title will be announced on 16 May, #VickyKaushal’s birthday… Directed by Laxman Utekar.”
Posting the development on Fukrey 3, he tweeted, “‘FUKREY 3’ MOVES TO NEW DATE… #Fukrey3 – which was scheduled for release on #Janmashtami weekend [7 Sept 2023] – will now release on 24 Nov 2023… Directed by #MrighdeepSinghLamba and produced by #RiteshSidhwani and #FarhanAkhtar.”
The producers of Fukrey 3 are Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, although Ali Fazal will not be a part of the original cast. The return of Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Manoj Singh, Pulkit Samrat, and Pankaj Tripathi has been confirmed by the movie’s posters.
Due to an extension in Jawan’s release, the two films’ release dates were altered. Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sunil Grover, Sanya Malhotra, and more actors also appear in the movie. Atlee is the film’s director. On Saturday, Shah Rukh participated in an Ask Me Anything session and tweeted, “Everybody was working without a break and pushing themselves…so a bit relieved that all can do their job with more ease now. #Jawan #7thSeptember2023.”
