A 16-year-old boy, Connor Stewart killed a 47-year-old man, Michael Rhodes with a single punch that fractured his skull. The whole attack was recorded on a mobile phone which later went viral on various social media channels.
Mr McEntee told the Metro, “Perhaps the easiest way to describe the defendant’s actions is to say he was playing the big man in front of this group. We know the victim was a subject of fun because he was known to be a drug abuser. He was referred to there as a crackhead.”
“He was, though, not wholly intoxicated, and not steady on his feet. He was an easy target”

On the other hand, Julie Taylor who was defending the boy said, “The fact the video exists and was circulated on social media has nothing to do with the defendant. He was very distraught and he has been unable to watch it.”
According to her, Stewart had been exposed to domestic violence while growing up as is mother and father separated when he was a young teenager.
Judge Mark Brown gave a verdict in which he clearly mentioned that he accepted that Stewart did not intend to kill Mr Rhodes but at the same time he died because of his violent conduct towards him.
