Vidya Balan got hitched Siddharth Roy Kapoor back in December 2012. Vidya recently recounted the story when she first had an encounter with Siddharth and later on met an awards night. She further stated that Karan Johar was the agent who paired them together, playing matchmaker with them.
The actor recounted in 2010 which was her high point in her acting career that she was filming for No One Killed Jessica, produced by UTV, however did not get the chance to interact with Siddharth till then. After winning the Best Actress award for Paa the duo had a polite and light conversation on “very good-looking, charming man”.
In an interaction with the Humans Of Bombay, Vidya averred, “Life was bringing us together a lot at that time. We ended up at a party together at Karan’s place. Karan has played Cupid in this relationship. He invited me to a party at his house and I was a bit [surprised] because I didn’t really know him. I [felt] how sweet.”
She further continued, “I went to his house and I didn’t really know most of the others. I was a bit shy and Siddharth walks in and because we had just watched [a] play together, we ended up having a chat. That’s when probably something happened that night. Later of course, I got to know that Karan had wanted us to meet. This was an intentional invitation. And it worked.”
Siddharth Roy Kapur owns his production house named Roy Kapur Films in 2017 and have bankrolled films like The Sky Is Pink, Yeh Ballet, webs series including Aranyak and Rocket Boys. Vidya has Neeyat and Lovers in her kitty next year.
