On Tuesday, Virat Kohli clarified rumours that the legendary cricketer intended to construct a cricket pitch at the Alibaug property. Virat and his actress-wife Anushka Sharma, two of the most talked-about stars in the entertainment industry, have bought an eight-acre property in Zirad village. Former Indian captain Kohli recently paid a visit to the building site in Maharashtra after taking a break throughout the whole T20I series between India and the West Indies.
Power couple Virat and Anushka reportedly had plans to construct a cricket pitch at their opulent Alibaug home, according to a reputable news source. Kohli, however, has dispelled the rumours by posting a notable comment on social media. On Tuesday, Kohli clarified the situation and called the development false news. “Bachpan se jo akhbaar Padha hai, wo bhi fake news chaapne lage ab (The newspaper that we are reading since childhood is also publishing fake news these days),” Kohli mentioned in his Instagram post through Stories.
After the media outlet said that the erstwhile India captain was eager to have a cricket pitch on his opulent property, Kohli responded. The senior Indian team hitter paid INR 36 lakh in stamp duty for the sale of his 2,000 square foot property in Alibaug, which cost him INR 6 crore.
Following claims that the legendary batsman makes almost INR 11 crore from posting promotional pictures on Instagram, Kohli has provided explanation. “While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true,” Kohli had said. On the work front, the 34-year-old is gearing up for the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup. Run-machine Kohli did not bat for Rohit Sharma’s Team India in his previous white-ball assignment against the West Indies in the Caribbean.
