Clearly, it is Virat Kohli’s day. During India’s World Cup match against South Africa, the cricket player, who turned 35 on the day of his record 49th ODI century, declared his love for Shah Rukh Khan. Virat sung along with Shah Rukh’s song Chaleya from his recent hit movie Jawan, which was playing on the stadium speakers. He even executed the actor’s famous posture.
In the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Virat was fielding when Arijit Singh’s Chaleya began to play on the speakers. He started off singing along, but when the live audience erupted into cheers, he abruptly broke into Shah Rukh’s famous characteristic posture, arms spread wide, for a brief moment.
The internet is in complete awe
Jawan director Atlee tweeted on X, “OMG (red heart emojis).”
Netflix India captioned, “King recognises king (sparkle emoji).”
Shortly after, it revealed a still from the streamer’s most recent commercial, in which Shah Rukh said that Jawan will be making his OTT debut on his birthday earlier this week. This marked the beginning of the Jawan x Virat crossover.
The subtitle for the Shah Rukh still posted by Netflix India read, “A gift for you, on my birthday.” The streamer added, “When one King predicted another King’s innings @imVkohli (crown emoji) #INDvsSA.”
Anushka too celebrated the moment, “Apne birthday pe khud ko present (100 emoji).”
Co-stars Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan
In the 2008 love picture Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi directed by Aditya Chopra, Anushka, Virat’s wife, made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh. Subsequently, she co-starred with him in the films Zero (2018), directed by Aanand L Rai, and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), starring Imtiaz Ali.
The next Dunki from Shah Rukh will be out on Christmas, while Anushka’s next film will be Chakda Express.
