A recent report revealed that Bengaluru police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Virat Kohli‘s pub, One8 Commune, and several other places on MG Road. The incident took place because these places violated the rules and stayed open after 1 am, which is against the city’s rules. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central said these pubs were still open until 1:30 am, breaking the city’s closing time regulations.
The police noted that around 3-4 pubs were open until 1:30 am, and there were complaints about loud music. Located near the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium One8 Commune, was one of the pubs mentioned. The police came into action after getting complaints about loud music late at night. The investigation is ongoing, and more actions will be taken based on what they find out.

One8 Commune has other branches in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, and Kolkata. The Bengaluru branch opened in December last year and is on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex. A case was filed against the manager of One8 Commune-Bengaluru for staying open past 1 am. The FIR says the pub was open and serving customers at 1:20 am, which is not allowed. A police officer on night patrol found the pub open at 1:20 am after receiving information about it. Because of this, the police filed an FIR against the pub.
In addition to One8 Commune, the police have also taken action against three other pubs for similar reasons. This shows that the authorities are serious about enforcing the city’s rules on when pubs should close and how loud they can be. Virat Kohli, who co-owns One8 Commune, has a special connection with Bengaluru because he has played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore since the Indian Premier League (IPL) started.
