The greatest distinction in Indian film, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, will be given to veteran performer Waheeda Rehman. The Directorate of Film Festival and the President of India bestow the Lifetime Achievement award, also known as the Phalke Award, each year during the National Film Awards event.
Anurag Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, made this news on social media on Tuesday. “I feel an immense sense of happiness and honour in announcing that Waheeda Rehman ji is being bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year for her stellar contribution to Indian Cinema.”
Waheeda Rehman, a veteran actress, will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest distinction in Indian film. The Lifetime Achievement Award, also known as the Phalke Award, is given by the President of India during the National Film Awards ceremony each year.
