DC fans got bad news today when they learned that both The New Gods and Aquaman spinoff The Trench have been dropped . But there is also a ray of hope: a solo film about Supergirl still seems to be coming.
Sasha Calle, who will play the character for the first time in The Flash , is also likely to star in her own movie.
Latina Supergirl
She plays the latest live-action version of Supergirl, following in the footsteps of Helen Slater , who played the role in a 1984 film, and Melissa Benoist , who is currently starring in the CW series Supergirl . That series must end with the current season.
Calle is the first Latina actress to play the role. In the comics and in previous live-action versions, Kara Zor-El, Superman’s niece, is portrayed as a character with blonde hair and blue eyes.
DC movie The Flash , with Supergirl in a supporting role, should reach the cinemas in November 2022.
