A successful fan movement has led to the revival of Warrior Nun, which Netflix shelved after two seasons, as a trilogy of films.
Ava, a young paraplegic girl who finds she has magical abilities, is the main heroine of the Ben Dunn-based comic book adaptation Warrior Nun, which centred on a hidden order of demon-hunting nuns. The vocal #SaveWarriorNun movement was launched on social media in the wake of Netflix’s cancellation of the show in December of last year.

Executive producer Dean English announced the return of the series as a trilogy of feature films in a statement published on the website WarriorNunSaved.com.
“I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures. Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three,” English penned down.

However, he said, the producers were unable to provide definite release dates for the projects due to the continuing strikes in Hollywood.
He also made a suggestion that there would be films and television programmes set in the “Warrior Nun” world.

“One thing we need to touch on involves the strike in Hollywood involving actors and writers. And it’s due to that that we cannot make any announcements today on that front. Some may ask, “Does this perhaps infer that there’s going to be a universe being launched of Warrior Nun, which could expand into films and TV series following characters that we already know?” Dean English shared in his statement.
