Ignorant, illiterate & hurtful. These were the words used by actress Sonam Kapoor to describe BJP MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar. The actress slammed him after he made absurd remarks against the LGBTQ community. According to Maharashtra Public University Act, 2016 (Third Amendment) includes GBTQIA|+ community members on University Boards. But it seems that it has not gone down well with the BJP minister and that’s why he made comments for the LGBTQ community and openly said. “Are you going to hire lesbians and gays as members? Shouldn’t a joint medical committee be set up on this? It mentions bisexual and asexual relations. However, no one has yet defined these.”
The statement spread like a fire and has now become a hot topic to discuss. This also made many people furious. Specially actress Sonam Kapoor who slammed him. Talking to her Instagram account she wrote Ignorant, illiterate & hurtful pointing towards him.
Well, it was not just Veere di wedding actress but before this Technical Education Minister Uday Samant pointed out this. He also called Mungantiwar’s remarks quite misleading. And made a statement saying “There are several judgments by the Supreme court about equal opportunities. By only pointing at this issue, the member (Mungantiwar) is trying to mislead”.
