About Khaby Lame.
Born in 2000 in Senegal, at one year he arrived in Italy with his family, in the popular area of the outskirts of Chivasso, in the Turin belt, where he still lives today. It was the Covid that indirectly threw this 21-year-old young man into this. He lost his job and so he decided to try his usual dream acting. On the other hand, he has always had comic ars, but he certainly did not imagine becoming a global star on TikTok: his videos have become a genre in themselves, viewed hundreds of millions of times, and the subject of countless filming, homage, and parodies. He posts video reactions to absurd situations, relying on an incomparable facial expression and expressiveness.
For years, the online creator space has been dominated by white creators like Addison Rae and the D’Amelio’s on TikTok and Pewdiepie, MrBeast, David Dobrik, and the Paul Brothers on YouTube. But It’s really thrilling to finally see a Black creator clinch the top spot.
