When I learned to run a new computer in my childhood, it used to take few seconds to find the letters on the keyboard. We used to spend a lot of time typing 10 words while searching for the alphabets. Then everyone must have thought that how silly the keyboard maker was. If he had written these alphabets from line to line instead of ABCD … then how easy would it have been to type! But growing up, when I started typing fast without looking at the keyboard, then it was understood that the rearrangement of the letters of the keyboard is not a mistake, but a result of many years of thinking, due to which typing for us today is a game of minutes…
Which was going on since 1868, is
actually associated with the history of keyboard typewriters. That means the QWERTY Format is running before the computer or keyboard arrives. In the year 1868 Christopher Latham Sholes, who invented the typewriter, first created the keyboard in the ABCDE … format. But he found that the speed and convenient typing he had expected was not happening. Along with this, many more difficulties were also coming up regarding Keys.
ABCD Format Keyboard
Why was this format chosen after so much effort,
because of the keyboard with ABCD, it was difficult to write on the typewriter. The main reason was that his buttons were so close to each other that typing was difficult. In addition, there are some letters in English that are more commonly used (eg E, I, S, M) and some words are rarely needed (eg Z, X, etc.). In such a situation, the finger had to rotate all over the keyboard for the letters used more often and typing became slow. Therefore, QWERTY Format came in the 1870s after many failed experiments. Which put the necessary letters in the fingers.
Dvorak Model came in the middle of
these experiments, there was another format – Dvorak Model. This model was not famous by its Keys, but was named after its inventor August Dvorak. However, this keyboard was not in the news for a long time. Because it was not alphabetical but it was not easy either. People liked the QWERTY model the most, so it became popular.
