Wikileaks Says CIA Hacked Apple, Android Devices And Samsung TVs All Over The World. Your Private Life Is Now Public

Wikileaks, the Anti-secrecy group published the biggest ever leak of confidential documents from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) revealing the tools it uses to break into smartphones (Apple and Android), smart televisions and other electronic devices. Wikileaks said it identified a project known as Weeping Angel where British and US intelligence agencies refined ways to take over Samsung smart TVs equipped with microphones compelling them to record conversations.

The leak named “Vault 7” by WikiLeaks, will once again generate questions about the underground spy activities performed by CIA and British Intelligence services. Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks said the discoveries were “exceptional from a political, legal and forensic perspective.”

The Leaks in the documents include:

  • CIA’s entire hacking capacity: From smartphones to computers
  • Weeping Angel: Targeted Samsung TV sets

Interestingly, a similar unit targets Google’s Android (which is used to run the majority of the world’s smartphones including HTC, Sony and Samsung. The CIA also runs a very consequential efforts to infect and control Microsoft windows users with its malware.

Wikileaks is a non-profit organization that publishes secret information, news leaks and classified media. Julian Paul Assange is a founder and editor-in-chief of this organization. In April 2010, WikiLeaks published gunsight footage from the Baghdad airstrikes in which Iraqi journalists were killed by an AH-64 Apache helicopter.

During the 2016 US Presidential election campaign, Wikileaks released e-mails and other documents from the Democratic National Committee and from Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta.
