Will Kevin Feige, the architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, also produce all of the Star Wars films and series ? The successful Hollywood producer himself answers that question in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Disney announced in September 2019 that Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige will be co- producing a brand new Star Wars movie with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy . This news was immediately seen by some as a precursor to a major role in Lucasfilm for Feige.
Although sources within Disney immediately quelled those theories (Kennedy would – for now – remain at the helm of Lucasfilm; although her contract expires later this year), many fans cannot let go of those thoughts.
Now that Lucasfilm announced a space fleet of new series at the end of last year, that was reason enough for Entertainment Weekly to ask Feige if he is also involved as a producer.
” No, they are all produced by Kathy “, Feige replies. ” My role ends with staying up until midnight to see the latest episode of The Mandalorian. “
So, Feige is clearly a massive Star Warsfan and therefore fans are also very much looking forward to the film produced by him, the screenplay of which is written by Michael Waldron, who also wrote the Marvel series Loki for Feige.
It is also logical that Feige’s further role is limited. After all, he is very busy with all his work for Marvel Studios, for which he now also makes series in addition to films.
