During the second wave of covid in India, the Delta variant caused a lot of destruction and now the world as well as India is under threat of Omicron. In such a situation, the question arises that, which is such a test, in which Omicron can be identified. So, the answer is “PCR test”. Yes! On Sunday, the WHO said that it can be detected by PCR test. But, it is also being studied whether it has an effect on other tests as well.

According to the World Health Organization, the PCR test takes place in India. Also, it is being used in most countries around the world. But, studies are being done whether it has any effect on other tests including rapid antigen detection test other than PCR or not. The first case of Omicron was found in South Africa on 24 November 2021. Apart from South Africa, it has also been found in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Botswana, Hong Kong and Israel.
