Gone are the days when only Men ruled the Bollywood. The year 2020 has a lot of female-centric films lined up that will break the notion that only men can rule Bollywood. This year there will be a list of films that bang the screen focusing on Women’s Power.
Bollywood actress Vidya said in a conversation that now the day is not far when women-oriented films will do the business of 200 to 500 crores. Undoubtedly the number of films focused on a female is rapidly increasing in our country. Out of which Deepika Padukone’s film Chhapaak has become quite popular. The other films that will follow “Chhapaak are “Panga“, “Shakuntala Devi” “Thalaivi” “Gungan SaxenaThe Kargil girl” .
Chhapaak: This much-awaited film based on the real-life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal is already on the screen. The film was released on 10th January. After the third day of its release, the film has made a good collection.
Shakuntala Devi: Based on the story of Late mathematical genius Shakuntala Devi, in this movie Vidya Balan will play the role of wonder woman Shakuntala Devi who was well known as human-computer. The first look of the poster is out but the movie is slated to release during late 2020. This biopic movie based on Shakuntala Devi is directed by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Productions.
Panga: The movie panga is a sports drama in which Kangana Ranaut will play the role of a kabaddi player. Based on the life and struggles of the player the film also features Jassi Gill, Richa Chaddha and Nina Gupta in a pivotal role. The film is scheduled to hit the screen on 24 January 2020.
Thalaivi: Another biographical film directed by A.L Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan is a story based on the life of a late politician and film actress J.Jayalalitha. Kangana will be playing a lead role in this movie. The film will be theatrically released in India on 26 June.
Gungan Saxena-The Kargil Girl: Actress Jahnvi Kapoor will be seen in her next upcoming film The Kargil Girl as Gunjan Saxena. In this movie, she will be portraying the role of the first female IAF pilot who played a big role in the search and rescue of injured soldiers during the Kargil war. The shooting of the film was wrapped up in October 2019 and will be released in theatres on 13th March 2020.
