India seems to be getting unhappier day by day. Yes, on the other hand, Pakistan is becoming more joyful, according to a UN report on World Happiness Index, which released on Wednesday. India dropped 11 places from its previous rank of 122 in the list of 156 countries monitored by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
Eight SAARC nations which are on the list
Pakistan improved its rating from last year and positioned themselves at 75th position.Bhutan is at 97, Nepal at 101, Bangladesh at 115 while Sri Lanka is ranked 116.
Finland topped the list, Sofia Holm, a 24-year-old resident of the country told to the associated press, “Well, our politics and our economics. I think the basics are quite good in Finland. So, yes, we have the perfect circumstances to have a happy life here in Finland.”
After Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden and Australia are on the list.
Author’ take: I personally believe that we Indians are becoming materialistic, therefore, the happiness rate is declining.
