Blockbuster film Lagaan’s Ishwar Kaka aka Srivallabh Vyas passed away on January 7. He breathed his last at 9.30 am and the last rites took place in the evening in Jaipur. He was 60 years old. In 2008, the actor reportedly suffered a brain stroke followed by a paralytic attack while shooting for a film in Gujarat. He fell in the middle of the night, only to be found profusely bleeding the next morning.
The actor was later operated on and he had become bed-ridden. In 2013, his family shifted to Jodhpur from Jaisalmer for his treatment. His wife Shobha told they changed their place thrice in two years as nobody was ready to give their apartment for rent to a patient. They suffered the financial crisis and ultimately he died. Not only Srivallabh Vyas but there exist many other actors too whose last days of life were worst. Take a look:
2) Parveen Babi
The actress who put a modern touch in the Bollywood industry. She was the most glamorous actress of the 70’s and mid-80’s. Parveen had affairs with actor Kabir Bedi and director Mahesh Bhatt but never married. She suffered from a delusional disorder which led her to the addiction to drugs and alcohol. This addiction failed her kidney and other organs. Parveen was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her apartment in the year 2005 after three days of her death.
3) Rami Reddy
The popular villain of 90s, he worked in more than 250 films. Rami Reddy had been suffering from liver ailments. He died on 14 April 2011 at 11:30 a.m in Hyderabad. He became very weak and almost unrecognizable when he died.
4) Gavin Packard
The most popular villain face of the 90s. He was only 47 when he died. Packard died of respiratory disorder on 18 May 2012 and was buried at the St. Andrews Burial Grounds in Bandra the next day. Despite his long and notable cinematic career, the funeral was conspicuous by the absence of any representative from the film industry.
5) Nisha Noor
She was popular in 80’s era of south Indian films. She was so popular that superstars Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan wanted to work with her. She also did some Bollywood films. It is said that a producer fraud fully puts Nisha into the prostitution. After that what happened was people of film industry cornered her. They used to avoid her and when she did not find a way she left the industry. But after that, the situations become worse for her. No one from the industry came to see her.
Slowly her financial situation went down. It is said that in the last days of her life she was dealing so worst that she found on the roads. During that phase, she was counting her last breathes. Nearby people made her reach to the hospital where she was diagnosed with HIV. She was diseased with AIDS. In the year 2007, she got defeated by life and died.
6) Neeraj Vora
He was in a coma for almost a year after suffering a heart attack and a brain stroke in 2016. Neeraj already lost his family before dying. His family including mother, father and wife all died before him due to various reasons. He didn’t have any child.
7) AK Hangal
Hangal, who had more than 200 films to his credit in a career that spanned nearly five decades, due to his old age post-2007 found it difficult to meet his medical expenses. His son Vijay, a retired cameraman and former Bollywood photographer, himself is 75 and has not had a full-time job since 2001. As a result, the family had financial difficulties. After 2007, Hangal has been suffering from an illness and could not afford the treatment. His condition worsened and he died at the age of 98.
8) Achla Sachdev
In September 2011, Achala slipped and fell in her kitchen. She sustained a fracture in her leg. After that, she was diagnosed with multiple embolisms in her brain. This resulted in total paralysis and the loss of her vision. According to Achla’s family friend Rajiv Nanda, she informed Bollywood’s main personalities about her illness on the phone, but no one came. Achla’s son lived in America and daughter lived in Mumbai, but they were not in contact with their mother and didn’t bother about her. Such a shame!
