Viewers have experienced nostalgia after seeing the new Yeh Meri Family season trailer, which was published on Monday.
The new season is a trip down memory lane, taking place during the winters of Lucknow in the 1990s. The Awasthi family is central to the narrative, which is told by Ritika (Hetal Gada), a 15-year-old, and is seen entirely from her perspective.
Juhi Parmar, who will be marking her OTT breakthrough with this show, can be seen in the TVF production Yeh Meri Family. Her character Neerja is similar to an Indian mother, who is always tender but can be strict when necessary. Angaad will play Ritika’s mischievous younger brother, and Rajesh Kumar will play the part of a forgiving father and the family’s good cop.
The clip perfectly portrays the spirit of the 1990s, complete with two-wheelers, radio transistors, newspaper guys, TV cables and family game nights of Ludo.
Posting her thoughts about the upcoming show, Juhi Parmar averred, “I believe that people nowadays look for relatable stories, and characters, and Yeh Meri Family is one such show that brings in several flavors of emotions. I feel an emotional connection portraying the character of Neerja, a woman that is so relatable, multitasking between being a teacher, a daughter-in-law, a wife, a mother, etc. Blending an interesting plot with the 90s nostalgia, the show is high on emotions and situations that we all have been in. There are many brief moments in the show that will surely make the viewers cry, laugh, and even make them think about their life back in the golden era.”
Yeh Meri Family’s newest season is scheduled to air on Amazon miniTV on May 19.
