On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath blamed the parents of the 290 children that have died in BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur. According to the Zee News, Adityanath said: “The moment children turn two-years-old, I feel that parents might just start dumping their responsibilities on the government.”
Yogi also took dig at the sting operation which was carried out by the Zee Media that exposed government doctors promoting private practices. He said: “Media often points out at the scattered trash. We agree it’s the government’s responsibility. Seems like every we’re now free of all responsibilities.”
On the other hand, BRD Medical College’s officiating principal PK Singh has confirmed that a total of 290 children have died in the Baba Raghav Das Medical College in the month of August.
Moreover, there have been 1,250 deaths since January this year. The death toll in January was 152 (143 in NICU and nine in encephalitis ward), in February it was 122 (117 and 5), in March 159 (141 and 18), in April 123 (114 and 9), May 139 (127 and 12), June 137 (125 and 12), July 128 (95 and 33) and August ( 213 and77).
