Rishabh Pant was just 4 runs away from scoring his second 150 in the Test career, with 159 runs being his highest score but the six to Joe Root was the “gamble” as the next ball Rishabh Pant was forced to get an edge and the young hero had to walk back to the pavilion.
Pant has performed sensationally to score 146 runs off just 111 balls and the bowlers failed to get Rishabh out but the part-time bowler Joe Root was able to clinch the critical wicket.
On Twitter, the former India opener Virender Sehwag lauded Pant and said the wicketkeeper was “in a league of his own.”
“Pant is in a league of his own. The most entertaining cricketer in the world, this is a special one,” tweeted Sehwag.
Pant, on Saturday, reacted to Sehwag’s praise, saying: “@virendersehwag bhaiya .. love this. you are one of the greatest and one of the best.”
