Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD), directed by Zoya Akhtar, is still a popular favourite despite being more than 12 years old. ZNMD, which was primarily filmed in Spain, got positive reviews, was a commercial success, and established a benchmark for subsequent travel-themed films.
The movie centres on Arjun (Hrithik Roshan), Kabir (Abhay Deol), and Imraan (Farhan Akhtar), three of the best friends from their childhood, and it chronicles the tale of their three-week road journey around Europe and the events that take place throughout this experience.
Many people still routinely watch the movie again, but Farhan Akhtar’s most recent social media post has shocked ZNMD fans. Farhan posted a photo on Instagram that resembled Imraan’s appearance and said, “The Imraan look comes full circle. What say @zoieakhtar ..? Should the Bwoys head on another road trip .. 😉”
While Hrithik aka Arjun, tried to amplify the effect with his comment: “Lesssss goooooo!!!! 🕺🏻” Injecting a bit of Kabir-ness, Abhay added, “I’ve had my #bagwati packed since 2012, what’s keeping you guys?”
In the middle of all the talk, director Zoya appeared to give the trip the go-ahead by saying:“My Bagwati is packed ♥️.”
“Wait, what!!? Farhan, getting our hopes high and then not making this movie, is-NOT-FUNNY!,” wrote a fan while another added: “Wonder what Bagwati 👜 is up to in life 🤔”.
Netflix India wrote: “Insaan ka kartavya hota hai ek road trip plan karna 👉👈” “Don’t give us Hopes I say dare not😭😭,” said an Instagram user.
Some, however, stated that they wanted to wait till Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa was finished before beginning work on ZNMD 2.Jee Le Zaraa, co-written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, was slated to star Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt when it was first announced in 2021.
Farhan had said that the film was getting delayed owing to certain complications with the dates in an interview with Variety last month. “We just have issues with dates, and the actor’s strike that’s happened has put Priyanka’s dates into a huge tizzy with what can happen and what can’t, so I’ve started genuinely believing that that film now has a destiny of its own. It’ll happen when it has to, we’ll see,” he added.
In addition to Hrithik, Abhay, and Farhan, Katrina Kaif, Kalki Koechlin, Naseeruddin Shah, and Deepti Naval had significant parts in ZNMD. The trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s songs also had a lot of success.
