Arshad Warsi reveals why most actors don’t act with him; was dropped out due to lead actor’s request

Arshad Warsi, who has effectively demonstrated his flexibility throughout the years, is one of Bollywood’s most active performers today. The actor has been in a number of successful films, including the Munnabhai series, and he is currently receiving praise for his performance in the web series Asur.

Arshad Warsi discussed his acting career and the workings of the industry with Siddharth Kannan as part of the marketing for the web series’ second season. Arshad Warsi discussed actors who have appeared “insecure” while working on particular films during the conversation. The actor also acknowledged that certain performers have asked for Arshad Warsi’s material to be “tamed down” so as not to overshadow them.

“That’s why no one acts with me. Most people don’t,” Arshad Warsi added. He added, “I know Sanju [Sanjay Dutt] is chilled out. I know Salman Khan doesn’t care.” In addition, he acknowledged that the legendary role of Circuit from Munnabhai MBBS did not appear to be particularly promising on paper, but he still agreed to act in the movie because he trusted Sanjay Dutt to “let me do my own thing.”

When asked about Akshay Kumar his co-star in Bachchan Pandey, he averred, “He did not have an issue and I did not have a great role [in the movie] anyway.” 

The principal character in Jolly LLB 2, the follow-up to the popular 2013 film Jolly LLB, which starred Arshad Warsi, was played by Akshay Kumar in 2017. He further revealed that he was dropped out of projects due to request from the lead actor, however he did not state further details.

Arshad Warsi was quoted at the time as saying that the company wanted him to be replaced by a “bigger movie star” Later on, the actor claimed that he didn’t mind being replaced and that he was pleased for Akshay Kumar. “Don’t put salt on my wounds. Jokes apart, I am very happy for Akshay. I am sure he and the team have done a great job. He and I keep talking about it. In fact, I am even promoting the film in my own way. I am yet to watch it but I am really excited about its release,” he told PTI.
