Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice looks better than ever in 4K, and fans can stream “Ultimate Edition” remastered in 4K from the Zack Snyder movie on the same day Zack Snyder’s Justice League is released. Additionally, the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version of the film will be released shortly thereafter. Warner Bros. Entertainment has now released the 4K trailer for the new version of the crossover film, and you can see how better it is already by watching the trailer below.
Originally released in 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice brings back Man of Steel star Henry Cavill as Superman, taking on a new take on Batman played by Ben Affleck. Fearing the actions of a “divine superhero left unchecked, Gotham City’s fearsome and powerful vigilante takes on Metropolis’ most revered and modern savior, as the world grapples with the type of hero whose he really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with each other, a new threat quickly arises, putting humanity in greater danger than ever before. ”
Starring Cavill and Affleck, Batman vs. Superman stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and Holly Hunter as June Finch. It also includes other Justice League member Gal Gadot like Diana Prince.
The film was a huge box office hit, but ultimately failed Warners Bros. ‘expectations at the time. Still, the film appears to have developed a stronger cult following in the years since. Many fans praised Ben Affleck’s new take on Batman, which was no small feat getting into the role after Christian Bale delivered such an iconic performance with the Dark Knight film trilogy. . The crossover was also intended to be carried in Affleck with his own solo Man bat movie, but the project would change evolve to Batman with Robert Pattinson.
Zack Snyder knows there are a lot of people out there who love Batman vs. Superman , so he intends to provide the best possible version of the movie for viewers to enjoy. This goes beyond restoring many of the deleted scenes included in the Blu-ray Ultimate Edition, as the director also felt the visuals didn’t look right. The 4K remaster will feature Batman vs. Superman the way Snyder had always wanted her to be seen.
“I just approved the Blu-ray box the other day,” Snyder told Minutemen in January, although he wasn’t sure at the time that it would also air on HBO Max. The filmmaker also revealed last year that he’s working on a remastered version of the film that restores its IMAX aspect ratio and updates its 4K visuals.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition will be available to own on Digital and stream on HBO Max on March 18, the same day that Zack Snyder’s Justice League releases . It will then be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on March 23. The 4K trailer comes to us from Warner Bros. Entertainment on YouTube.
