  • Not everyone is as lucky as those in the world who get lovely and caring parents. Some lost their parents and some get abandoned by their parents. Today we will tell you about the Bollywood actresses who bore the pain of abandoning by their fathers during their childhood, the period when you need your parents the most!

    1) Katrina Kaif

Katrina’s childhood was not a normal one. She and her siblings were raised by a single mother. Her parents divorced when she was a child, and her father moved to the United States since then she hardly met her father.

Once in an interview, Katrina said that:

“My dad, unfortunately, and not out of choice, has had no influence on our upbringing, on our religious or social or moral bearings. When I see friends who have wonderful fathers who are like pillars of support for their families, I say, if only I had that. But instead of complaining, I should be grateful for all the other things I have”.

    2) Jiyah Khan

The late actress’ father left the family when she was two and never came back. Describing her father’s absence she said:

“A man who left his daughter when she was two, should be hanged in public”.

The sad part is, her father will never see her daughter again as the actress committed suicide in 2013.

    3) Nargis Fakhri

Fakhri’s parents divorced when she was six, and her father died a few years later. Because of her mixed Pakistani and Czech ethnicity, she describes herself a “global citizen”.

    4) Rekha

Rekha was born to Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan. Her father did not acknowledge his paternity during her childhood. Rekha was an illegitimate child and her father Gemini Ganesan would refuse to recognize her as a child. In an interview, Rekha revealed that her father had once come to pick his children up from her school, and walked right past her without even recognizing her.

    5) Meena Kumari

Meena Kumari was born with the name Mahjabeen in a family of poor theatre artists, Ali Bux and Iqbal Begum on 1 August 1933. This was a great disappointment to Ali Bux because he wanted a son. So her father decided to leave her at an orphanage. She brought up as an orphan. But her life had some different plans for her. With a twist of fate, she got a film offer as a child artist at the age of 4.

Although she was in an orphanage her parents stayed connected with her and they were the ones who brought this film offer to her.
