Actress Nadira made a bench-mark when in 1960’s she became the first Indian film personality from the film industry who own a Rolls-Royce .Born into a Baghdadi Jewish family in Iraq, her journey started when she relocated to Bombay with her family during the 1930s. At just the tender age of 11 she realised her responsibility and household’s financial welfare by 18.

Nadira started her journey as a child artist. However she gained famed from Mehboob Khan’s Aan in 1952 and she turned a star with this film.Later on she appeared in many classics like Shree 420 and Dil Apna Aur Preet Parayi, giving memorable performances and establishing herself as the highest-paid actresses of her era, despite appearing in supporting roles. The turning point of her surfaced when she performed negative roles, opposite traditional heroines. Later she set a benchmark in successful films like Pakeezah and Julie.
