Actor Divya Dutta has starred in several movies and carries a magnificent body of work however the film which is close to her heart is Veer Zara. But the actor has gotten the chance to work with her crush Shah Rukh Khan. The actor played the role of Shabbo who is Zaara aka Preity Zinta’s friend. To the surprise Shah Rukh had also recommended her name to ace director Mani Ratnam for his 1998 film Dil Se.
Speaking to Aaj Tak, Divya mentioned her meet with SRK in Delhi’s Connaught Place while he was filming for Dil Se.
Divya Dutta said, “He extended his hand and received me, just like in a film. He asked me, ‘Do you want to have some tea?’ He asked me why I was there, and I just said, ‘I want to be a part of Dil Se’. He promised to convey my message.”
Divya further mentioned that Mani Ratnam has messaged her after Shah Rukh Khan’s recommendation, However the director could not cast her as she looked similar to the female lead actor Manisha Koirala. The filmmaker said, “I can’t have two similar actresses in one film.”
Divya Dutta last appeared in Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad. The film failed at the box office.
