Golden Globes 2024: Most hilarious speeches of all time, watch

The first significant show of awards season will be the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The Oscars are the most watched awards show, but the Golden Globes have always been one of the most prominent. The program was billed as an A-list bash with hosts who frequently adopted a more lighthearted demeanor than their Academy counterparts.

The greatest speeches given at the Globes over the years are listed below:

Ricky Gervais

The Hollywood Film Press Association was the organization that British actor Ricky Gervais had to remind his co-stars to thank after winning the 2004 Golden Globe for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy for The Office. He put the error down to his British heritage. He remarked, “We ruled the world before you,” which caused the audience to erupt in laughter.

Emma Thompson

Following her Golden Globe win for her role in Ang Lee’s 1995 period film Sense and Sensibility, Emma Thompson presented a funny interpretation of Jane Austen’s perspective on what it was like to attend the awards ceremony.

Steve Carell

In 2006, Steve Carell and Ricky Gervais shared the same award for the US version of The Office. He made light of the fact that his wife Nancy Carell wrote his victory speech since he was incapable of doing so. He continued by thanking his wife twice. Steve said, “And to my wife, for giving me two children, as painful as labour would’ve been”

Sofia Vergara

At the 2017 ceremony, Sofia Vergara purposefully mispronounced a word when presenting an award. “Golden Globes has an annual tradition” as “Golden Globes has an anal tradition,” referring to the HFPA’s status.

Taraji P Henson

The Black actor was given a cue at the podium to conclude her acceptance speech after winning a Globe in 2016 for her role in Empire, but instead she said, “I’ve waited 20 years for this.” You will have to wait.

Lionsgate Play will be the only platform in India to stream the 81st Golden Globe Awards on January 8 at 6:30 AM.
