The IE100- the Most Powerful Indians 2023 list includes celebrities like superstar Shah Rukh Khan, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, director SS Rajamouli, actress Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Ranveer Singh.
Shah Rukh Khan- Rank 50
Shah Rukh Khan is leading from the front and has improved dramatically from his prior position of 82. The superstar is listed at position 50. For Khan, the year 2023 has been all about figures. After an absence of four years, he made a triumphant comeback with the box office smash Pathaan. It generated Rs 1046 globally throughout its more than 50-day run.
Amitabh Bachchan- Rank 87
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is up next on the list. The actor, who came in at number 87 on the list, had a busy year in 2022, starring in films including Jhund, Uunchai, Runway 34, Goodbye, and Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. He was one of the few actors to have back-to-back movies come out after the pandemic. The 95th-ranked director is SS Rajamouli, whose movie RRR had audiences around the globe dance and scream. However, the actress found herself in the heart of a tempest in the lead-up to Pathaan’s release when BJP ministers and right-wing organisations said the song’s orange bikini disrespected the saffron color, “which is sacred for the Hindu community.” Padukone remained silent and allowed Pathaan’s box office success speak for itself.
Alia Bhatt- Rank 99
The actress Alia Bhatt, who had a remarkable year in 2022 that included multiple film releases including a Hollywood project, has bagged the 99 position. Bhatt has a successful year last year, garnering both critical and commercial accolades for movies like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Darlings, Brahmastra, and her appearance in RRR. The actor also wed Ranbir Kapoor, and towards the end of the year, the couple had a daughter. With her upcoming Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Bhatt is prepared to return to the big screen and hopes to start the year 2023 off on a high note.
Ranveer Singh- Rank 100
Actor Ranveer Singh is ranked at position 100. After the pandemic, Singh had three different films released: the Rohit Shetty comedy Cirkus, the 2022 comic drama Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and the cricket drama 83 in which he played World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev.
