India’s 2-1 win reward the blues 3rd spot in ICC ODI Rankings

In the most recent Men’s ODI Team Rankings, Rohit Sharma’s team is holding on to third place just ahead of Pakistan after India’s tight series victory against England away from home.

On Sunday, Rishabh Pant’s first ODI century helped India defeat England 2-1, securing a series win that kept them in third place behind New Zealand in the standings.

Following Jos Buttler’s team’s 2-1 series loss at home against India, New Zealand has a rating of 128 points, seven points more than England (121).

India is currently in third place with a rating of 109, just three rating points ahead of Pakistan, their main opponent (106).

With South Africa now in sixth place and only seven rating points behind Pakistan, things could change over the next few weeks. If they can sweep their next three-match series against England, they have a chance to move up as high as fourth.
