It’s Shameful That R Ashwin’s Wife And Kids Are Getting Trolled After His Controversial Jos Buttler Wicket

IPL 12th season has already started, yesterday’s match between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals was the 4th match of the season. KXIP won it by 14 runs. But the win of the team somewhere cost the captain of KXIP, R Ashwin.

It is because of his controversial Mankad dismissal. He made the bombastic batsman of Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler out with this Mankad rule and now he is receiving backlash from social media. In the 13th over of the match, while his bowling spell, when Ashwin saw Jos Buttler out of the crease at the non-striking end, he popped out the stumps. Buttler was at 69 that time. He made these runs on 43 balls. However, what is worst is social media users are targetting his family – his wife Prithi and daughters.

Many users felt Ashwin violated the spirit of the game. But trolling R Ashwin’s daughters and wife, in any case, is not justified. A social media user called R Ashwin’s daughter ‘future cheat’ just because they didn’t like a piece of an action which was perfectly legal on the cricket field.

R Ashwin’s wife Prithi gave her reaction to the trolls in a series of tweet:

To let you know, according to Mankad’s law in cricket, based on Indian cricketer Vinoo Mankad’s action in 1947. He took the wicket of Bill Brown during the Sydney Test in the same manner and since then it became famous and now called Mankading.

Ashwin not only faced backlash from social media users but some other popular cricketers too. check out below:

While interacting to media, Ashwin said about the dismissal,

“No real argument on that and it was pretty instinctive. I didn’t even load and he just left the crease. We ended on the right side of the coin, but I definitely think that those are game-changing moments and batsmen need to be wary of it”.
