Kangana Ranaut showered her words of praise for Tabu who is ‘single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry’. Kangana took to her Instagram on Sunday, and mentioned that Tabu is a superstar whose both the films Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2 have worked very well at the box office this year. Kangana further mentioned the fact that it is appreciable that Tabu ‘reached the peak of her stardom’ in her fifties.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Only two Hindi films have worked this year – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2… and both films have superstar Tabu ji in central roles, slaying in her 50s… single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry. Her talent and consistency have never been questioned but to look her best and reach the peak of her stardom in her fifties is commendable.”
She identified Tabu as a source of inspiration and further added, “I think women deserve much more credit for their unwavering dedication to their work… Such an inspiration.”
Tabu appeared in Drishyam 2, released on November 18. The film also features Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna, which also fronted the second biggest opening day earnings in 2022. Drishyam 2 grossed at ₹15.38 crore at the domestic box office on the opening day, and completed ₹21.59 crore on its second day. The film is a sequel of 2015 film also starring Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta.
Tabu also got featured in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which witnessed an opening day collections of ₹14 crore. the film crossed ₹266 crore overseas and became the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022. Helmed by Anees Bazmee and bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar it also stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.
