Lady Gaga’s performance arrived as a surprise at the 2023 Oscars. However this time it was quite far from the usual performances, the star appeared in a no makeup look and sang her Oscars nominated song b Hold My Hand from the movie Top Gun: Maverick. She wore a plain black T-shirt, ripped jeans, and Converse shoes.
Despite the prior announcement in which she had mentioned that she would not be performing at the event as per the norms, however at the eleventh hour decided to deliver the performance and a power packed speech. “Hold My Hand” was penned by Gaga and BloodPop for the movie “Top Gun: Maverick”, which bagged six nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
The ballad was one among the five songs nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars. The other included “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “Applause” from “Tell It Like a Woman”, “Naatu Naatu” from “RRR”, and “This Is a Life” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. Among which Naatu Naatu bagged the coveted trophy.
Reacting to Lady’s performance, a fans wrote, “Performance of the night. She started low then picked it up to the original production style. Took us home with the belt! One thing you can never take away from Gaga? is her MUSICAL DISCIPLINE.
