Movie and OTT recommendations to surpass boredom

On August 18, a handful of films and web series will be available. Let’s glimpse through it.

Non Stop Dhamaal

This comic adventure, which takes place in the lively world of Bollywood film, is a tornado of narrative turns, colourful characters, and hysterical entertainment. The story revolves around Satinder (Annu Kapoor), a determined film director who hopes to work with famous actors. Together with his buddy Amar (Manoj Joshi), a struggling young screenwriter, they set out on a mission to raise money for their ambitious film project.

Ghoomer

R Balki’s film Ghoomer follows the engrossing journey of Anina (Saiyami Kher), a young player who aspires to make the prestigious Indian National Women’s Cricket team. She gets chosen for the squad, but fate takes a surprising turn when she experiences a setback that drastically alters her life. A catastrophic accident causes the loss of her right arm in the days before a key competition, seemingly ruining her goals.

Mask Girl

Kim Mo Mi, an inconspicuous office worker dealing with a strong feeling of self-doubt about her looks, becomes involved in a string of events while adopting the character of an internet presenter and concealing her face behind a mask. This is the story of Mask Girl. Mo Mi’s coworker Joo Oh Nam harbours an unrequited love for her. Oh Nam finds comfort in listening to online broadcasts. On August 18, the online series will be available on Netflix.

Guns & Gulaabs

A grim comedic criminal thriller, Guns & Gulaabs. The nasty 1990s underground is the subject of the narrative. The programme creates a tale that combines themes of love, innocence, comedy, and romance amid a backdrop of crime and violence. Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, Goutam Sharma, Gourav Sharma, and Gulshan Devaiah are among the ensemble cast members that play the lead roles.

AP Dhillon: First of a Kind

First of a Kind by AP Dhillon reveals the mysterious global sensation and the close-knit group of people who made his colossal victory possible. The documentary takes viewers on an engaging voyage as it traces AP’s beginnings from a small hamlet in Punjab via a lens of never-before-seen intimate video and unmatched backstage insights.

The Monkey King

The Monkey King, a groundbreaking animated movie created by actor-producer Stephen Chow, will debut on Netflix on August 18. This cinematic work introduces viewers to the Monkey King by taking inspiration from a significant character in the well-known Chinese literature “Journey to the West,” which was written in the 16th century. This character, who possesses tremendous superhuman talents, faces a constant battle with his own overly inflated ego.
