Rape is one of the most brutal inhuman acts and all we want is the culprits should be hanged till death. But in India, the rape cases run so long, it takes a number of years to decide the capital punishment of a rapist. But it seems Narendra Modi lives in some other country that’s why he is giving such statements. Recently, while speaking in a rally in Surat Gujarat, Narendra Modi claimed that now rapists are “hanged within three days, seven days, 11 days and a month”.
His claim didn’t go well with the people and Twitterati slammed the Indian Prime Minister. See some of the reactions below:
Bollywood singer too slammed him for his seemed to be a false claim. He called it a lie. He took to Twitter to write, “Lie. Name one rapist who has been hung in your term, Sir. Nirbhaya’s rapists, Asifa’s rapists, even Unnao child-rape-accused BJP MLA Sengar are still alive and well.”
To let you know, in the last 13 years, only four people were hanged in India, and only one of them, Dhananjoy Chatterjee, was hanged for rape and murder in the year 2004.
