British singer Rita Ora, 30, said she had spent the past few years fearing she would be diagnosed with breast cancer after her mother, Vera Sahatciu, who fought the disease in 2005.
Rita said she dealt with several panic attacks after her mother’s diagnosis and that she even had symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress because of the responsibility she felt for “taking the lead” while desperately trying to “protect” her mother, said the singer in an interview with The Sun newspaper .
“Cancer affects everyone, my mother fought it twice, and I had a number of different emotions. I felt a lot of responsibility in taking the lead and becoming a stronger teenager,” said Rita.
Vera was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2005 and needed chemotherapy, radiation therapy and a partial mastectomy to deal with the disease.
