Samantha Ruth Prabhu reveals some interesting facts from the sets of Shaakuntalam

The actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu gave her fans behind-the-scenes insights into the making of her upcoming movie, Shaakuntalam. She released a video discussing five “crazy facts” about the film before it was released. The actor dealt with a lot while filming the Gunasekhar directed movie, including being bitten by a rabbit on the sets and having a flower allergy.

Samantha was seen driving in the video. She mentioned how the flower decorations on the sets resulted in her an allergic reaction. She stated: “I shot all day without any complaints, and then in the evening, the imprint of the flower was all over my arm. I sort of had a flower tattoo on my arm for six months. I thought it was permanent because no one was able to fix it. I would put makeup on top. Eventually, it went away.”

Samantha went on to say that rabbits were used throughout the filming on the sets. She claimed that one bit her, and she added, “They are not so cute apparently.” “So Neeta Lulla ma’am had made some of the most beautiful costumes for Shaakuntalam. There was this song where I had to wear a beautiful lehenga. She had kept the dancing in mind and hence made some lehengas lighter and some heavier, like 30 kg kinda heavy. But what was meant to be for the song, didn’t really happen, and I ended up wearing a 30 kg lehenga for the dance.”

Samantha said, “I don’t know how other actors do it. It was so tough. I was delivering dialogues in my sleep. I hope I have done justice to the job.”

The movie will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada after being dubbed from its native Telugu language. “No points for guessing this one. That’s not my real hair,” the actor added.

Shaakuntalam is based on the well-known Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa. The epic love tale between Shakuntala (Samantha) and King Dushyant, played by Dev Mohan, is the focus of the movie. The movie opens in theatres on April 14.
