A renowned filmmaker and actor Shekhar Suman, has captivated audiences with his versatile performances over the years. Recently he captured everyone’s attention for his portrayal of Nawab Zulfikar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series, “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.” Viewers have taken to social media platforms to shower him with praise for his amazing performance in the web series. During an interview with Zoom, Suman shared insights about the shooting process. He said that Bhansali wanted the Nawab to have a mid-air “fellatio” moment. The director even mentioned to Suman that he could opt out of performing the scene if he weren’t comfortable. Explaining about the shooting experience, the actor revealed that the scene was completed in just one take. Technicians expressed their gratitude to him for not prolonging the scene unnecessarily. Suman recounted his response, stating, “I said, ‘In this life, nothing is too bizarre, I’ll do it.’ And it was done, first take.” Performing a drunken scene can be challenging, as one can easily overact or underperform. However, Suman instinctively understood the tone and gravity of the scene, and he delivered a remarkable performance. Bhansali commended his acting, calling it, “Magnificent!” After that, it was a wrap. Technicians also expressed their gratitude, acknowledging that the scene could have dragged on. But was done in one go because of Suman’s professionalism.
