Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s movie RRR has been nominated under the Best Foreign Film category for the prestigious 80th Golden Globe Awards. The film’s song Naatu Naatu have been nominated under the Best Original Song category too.
Golden Globe tweeted officially on Monday, “Congratulations to the nominees for Best Picture – Non-English Language–All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina, 1985, Close, Decision to Leave and RRR.
In a different tweet, Golden Globes wrote, “Best Original Song – Motion Picture–Carolina, Taylor Swift (Where the Crawdads Sing), Ciao Papa, Guillermo del Toro & Roeban Katz (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio), Hold My Hand, Lady Gaga and Bloodpop (Top Gun: Maverick), Lift Me Up, Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) Naatu Naatu, Kala Bhairava, MM Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj (RRR).”
RRR has won many accolades since its release and worldwide collections, of which recently music composer MM Keeravaani grabbed the Los Angeles Film Critics Association’s (LAFCA) best music score award.
SS Rajamouli, not bagged the best director award at the New York Film Critics Circle.
RRR, a period drama grossed at ₹1,200 crore worldwide. The Hindi version is now streaming on Netflix.
