In 2011, after ten seasons, the successful Smallville series came to an end, in which we saw how Tom Welling evolved from a very young Clark Kent to the Man of Steel we know as our patron … Superman.
In daily life Welling appears to be close friends with actor Robert Pattinson who will appear next year as that other DC hero … Batman.
While guest on the El Mundo Geek Ernestoneitor podcast, Welling hinted that he is still open to continuing to play the role of Superman on the silver screen, preferably alongside Pattinson’s Dark Knight in The Batman .

Fans are at least pleased with this. We’ve never really seen Welling in action as Superman for any length of time, as the series’ climax worked towards that iconic moment when he ripped open his shirt for the first time to reveal the red-yellow-blue costume. Welling has already appeared in the role once in
CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths and he is clearly looking forward to doing more. It has previously been reported that The Batmanis set in DCEU’s Earth 2, an alternate Earth where new versions of existing characters can emerge. This means that a possible door for Welling is certainly open!
