And now the connection between Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, and the discovery of over ₹200 crore stashed in almirahs during an income tax raid is making headlines. The raid was at an Odisha-based distillery group. And associated entities, linked with Dhiraj Sahu.
The news has been buzzing all over the internet as the income tax department’s operation uncovered a substantial amount of money hidden in almirahs at the premises of Boudh Distillery Private Limited in Balangir district. Other locations that were also part of the raids were Sambalpur and Sundargarh in Odisha, as well as Bokaro and Ranchi in Jharkhand.

Who is Dhiraj Sahu, and how is he connected to this situation?
Dhiraj comes from a business background, and his family has a longstanding affiliation with the Congress party. He is associated with Baldev Sahu Infra Pvt Ltd, a group company of Boudh Distilleries covered in the search. Sahu’s political journey began in 1977. Later since 2010, he has served as a Congress MP in the Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand.
Now the result is that the BJP got a chance to criticize the Congress. Tweeting about the income tax raid PM Modi stressed returning any public money that was used improperly. Union Minister Anurag Thakur connected this incident to the opposition’s disagreement with demonetization, hinting at an ongoing connection between Congress, corruption, and money. The raid that came to light is worrying. As per the reports, nearly 100 crore in nine almirahs have been recovered.
