We often see daring heroes in the pictures who save the society from the villains and is so powerful who never gets defeated. Today we will tell you about a real-life hero and Abhishek Yadav Abhi. The horrific Delhi rape incident also called as Nirbhaya Case that shocked the nation in December 2012 made a deep impact on Abhishek. Nirbhaya, the victim, a paramedical student was brutally abused by a group of men on a moving bus.

Abhishek got deeply saddened as he felt helpless and was outraged about the lack of security of women in this country. But he was the one who was not like most of us who only condemn such incidents on social media or among friends and family. He decided to do something. Being a multi-discipline martial arts expert he decided to use his skills to train women and girls on how to defend themselves against any kind of attackers.

Since then Abhishek says he has given free self-defence training to more than 2.5 lakh girls across Uttar Pradesh. He is 28 years old and runs an NGO called Abhiself Protection Trust. This NGO is based in Uttar Pradesh and trains the girls under their ‘Meri Raksha, Mere Haathon Mein’ programme, where most of the girls are from rural areas.

Abhishek is a professional martial art expert who used to train the UP Police initially in 2007. However, the Delhi Gang rape influenced him to start a movement to teach the same defence techniques to girls. he provides a week-long training to make girls protect themselves against abusers.

In 2016, he set a Limca world record for training a whopping 5,700 girl students in self-defence techniques in Kunda, Pratapgarh. Abhishek is also an international gold medalist in Karate. He has a team of around 12 people who also help him with the training programs.
