Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior is an upcoming Indian drama starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Jagapathi Babu, Pankaj Tripathi and Sharad Kelkar in the lead roles and Kajol in a guest appearance. It was scheduled for a worldwide release on 27 December 2019, but the release date has been pushed back to 10 January 2020 and the reason behind its delay was because of extensive VFX work needed to be done on the film. This film is the 100th film of Ajay Devgan in which he will be seen portraying the role of Subhedar Tanaji Malusare who was a military leader in the army of Chatrapati Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire in 17th century India.
Tanhaji is a biopic ambitious and historical drama of the 17th century Maratha warrior who led Shivaji’s army to victory in the 1670 battle against the Mughals. He sacrificed his life in the war, but not before the Marathas took charge of the Kondana fort again. In this movie, Kajol will be seen playing the role of Savitribai Malusare the wife of Tanhaji Malusare, played by Ajay Devgan in the film. Kajol will be seen playing the role of Ajay Devgn’s wife on the big screen for the first time after 2008 film U Me Aur Hum.
