His grandson Vardhan Puri told that, “Dada met grandmother Urmila Diveker in an insurance company where Dadu worked as a clerk. After the very first meeting, both of them fell in love with each other. But Dadi was South Indian and Dadu was Punjabi. When the families of both came to know that the grandparents liked each other, they did not like it at all. The families of both became against this marriage. But Dadi Dadu did not give up and he convinced their families. After this both of them got married with the consent of the families.
Apart from this, Vardhan told that, “Dada worked very hard and struggled in his life. He wanted to be a hero, but he became a villain. At that time he had only one grandmother who gave him his full support. When Dadu was struggling in the industry, Dadi used to work to run the house. The grandmother used to feed the family by working overtime. When Dadu turned 41, the star of his luck shone. Dadu always used to say – ‘I should be a hero or not, but the hero of this house is my wife’.

Amrish Puri’s career started in the year 1971. He first worked in the film ‘Prem Pujari’.ough he did not achieve much success. After that he gradually started working as a villain and in the year 1980s he became the top villain of Bollywood industry.
He played the character of ‘Mogambo’ in Shekhar Kapur’s film ‘Mr India’ in the year 1987, through which he became very famous. Not only this, but this character added to his career and his dialogue ‘Mogambo Khush Hua’ is remembered even today.
