As Chandrayaan-3, India’s third moon mission, approaches its Wednesday lunar landing, business tycoon Anand Mahindra voiced his excitement for the expedition on Sunday. The Mahindra Group chairman declared that he will be monitoring, praying for, and applauding the Chandrayaan-3 mission when it touches down.
“August 23rd. 1745 IST. I’ll be watching. Praying. And cheering you on…” wrote Mahindra on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Mahindra has supported the nation’s moon programme in the past as well. In prior tweets, he supported the lunar exploration expedition against opposing arguments over the cost of the project.
Mahindra tweeted a video of the moon as it was seen from Chandrayaan-3 on August 3 and stated, “There are a million technological and commercial benefits that justify the effort and expense on space exploration. But these images accomplish much more than that: they inspire in us the magic of discovery and exploration. Thank you, @isro for igniting our dreams.”
