The luckiest are those who taste success right from their debut film in Bollywood. But who says a successful debut ensures one’s destiny and luck in the industry? We’ve seen examples of several artists who had a rock-solid start but couldn’t sustain long in the glitzy, glamorous world. Despite working hard. That’s what we call destiny. Below is one such example of actress Anu Aggarwal. Keep reading to know her story.

Early life of Anu Aggarwal

Anu Aggarwal was famous for her role in the movie Aashiqui. She started her journey after finishing her studies at Delhi University. She worked as a model and video jockey (VJ) and appeared in a TV show called Isi Bahane in 1988. But her big break came with the 1990 movie Aashiqui, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, where she starred alongside newcomer Rahul Roy. The movie was a huge success, and the music album from the film became very popular. After Aashiqui, Anu acted in movies like King Uncle, Khal-Naaikaa, and Janam Kundli, but none of these films were as successful as her first. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Anu shared that even though she worked with well-known directors, she was searching for inner happiness. To find this, she started practicing yoga. Anu’s last movie appearance was in Return of Jewel Thief in 1996.

In addition to this, back in 2020, reflecting on her comeback, she had shared with us, “In fact, there are some acting things happening. There is my book (Anusual) that Netflix wants to adapt as a series. I am in talks for it. It is my story, so I want to be very sure about it, want it to be perfect.”

However, one major incident changed everything. Because destiny had some different plans and her life took a U-Turn when she had a major accident in 1999. She was in a coma for 29 days, which erased her memory. She was so serious that the doctors said that she would survive for 3 years, but she remained certain that she would heal. On this, the actress spoke “Everything I had learned I applied to myself and healed myself. Then, I started yoga therapy for slum kids, and then I was later recognized by other organizations where I gave talks,” told the actress.

Take a look at her then and now pictures below:
