We have heard the saying that love knows no age boundaries. Currently, this example fits perfectly with Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor. For those unaware the couple has an age gap of 12 years. But their compatibility inspires many. Fans even speculate about their marriage. But the question is if the pairing of an older woman with a young man works. When exploring Bollywood we see that many couples with huge age differences stood the test of time.

One such example is Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali Mehta who is 5 years older than her. After their courtship, they finally tied the knot in 1995. And now they have two kids named Sara and Sachin Arjun. The couple’s success indicates that age hardly matters if one has respect for each other.
Between 1993 and 2009, more Korean women married older men. In 1993, 8.5% did, but by 2009, it was 14.3%. A study at the University of Maine found that women marrying later, having more education, and earning more money contributed to this change. Another study at the University of Colorado Boulder looked at couples with big age differences. Professor Tera McKinish, who worked on the research, found that men marrying younger women reported higher happiness. On the other hand, men married to older women felt less satisfied. The study showed both the good and bad sides of such marriages. For instance, older women might experience menopause earlier, leading to lower sexual desire and fertility, which could be challenging in relationships.
Research also says that women marrying older men might be less happy. Studies show that a big age gap between spouses can cause problems in relationships. A survey in Australia with 7,682 households found that couples with a 6 to 10-year age difference faced challenges, possibly leading to a less exciting married life.
