Harmanpreet Kaur is expected to play Asian Games only when India Reaches Final

Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, will only be eligible to compete in the Asian Games if her squad makes it to the championship game of the massive competition beginning on September 23 in Hangzhou. According to the ICC T20I ranking released on June 1, four countries — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh — will begin play from the last eight stage in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

Harmanpreet is ineligible to participate in the quarterfinal, which will undoubtedly be against an associate nation, followed by the semifinal against a full member nation because she recently received a two-match suspension for her public outburst following an ODI match against Bangladesh.

Beginning on September 19 and concluding on September 26 with the gold and bronze medal matches, respectively, is the women’s competition.

Two days post the men’s ICC 50-over World Cup in Ahmedabad begins, on October 7, the men’s competition concludes. The men’s event begins on September 28.

If the Indian cricket team advances to the final, it is scheduled to play on three consecutive days: October 5 for the quarterfinal, October 6 for the semifinal, and October 7 for the championship game.

Given that both Afghanistan and Bangladesh’s main teams will be in India for the World Cup at that time, India’s quarterfinal opponent will probably be one of those teams’ reserve squads.

The Hangzhou Games will feature 32 matches between the men’s and women’s competitions, with 14 games in the women’s competition and 18 in the men’s.

The afternoon games will be played by the Indian men’s team at 12 noon IST (2:30 pm local time), if they get to the final.
