FIH Hockey Series Finals: India’s Bombastic Win Over Russia by 10-0 in 40 Years

Cricket World Cup 2019 is already here! But let’s take a look at India’s one of the famous sports too, i.e Hockey. Yes, you will be glad to know that in FIH Hockey Series Finals, team India has performed uberly in the starting match. Indian hockey team beat Russia with 10-0 in Pool A match.

This is India’s biggest win over Russia in 40 years. Earlier, in 2008 India beat Russia with 8-0. Harmanpreet and Akashdeep made 2 goals each. On Friday India will play against Poland.

In the match, India made its first goal in the 13th minute by Nilakanta Sharma. In 19th minute Simranjit and in 20th minute Amit made goals and the score became 3-0. Then the whole team displayed remarkable coordination and ultimately made a 10-0 score on the board. It was a clean-sweep by India against Russia.

Apart from Hockey and Cricket, FIFA Women’s World Cup has also started today. [This will be the eighth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
