The gory fatalities have always been the most famous element of the game series, but to the disappointment of fans, the ’90s films contain little blood due to the lackluster PG-13 rating. However, that problem seems to be solved in the new Mortal Kombat , which will be released next month.
The trailer for the Warner Bros. movie made it more than clear that enough blood will flow in the new movie. Director Simon McQuoid adds to the hype by adding:
“We wanted to push the blood and the grossness of the fatalities to the limit. There comes a point, of course, where you go too far and can’t release the movie. And that wouldn’t be wise for the studio. agreed that we would tackle this element properly. “

If we are to believe these words, Mortal Kombat seems to live up to all the hype. Let’s hope we don’t get home from a rude awakening in April.
Mortal Kombat is due to hit theaters on April 15 and will hit HBO Max (in America) at the same time. How and whether the film will also be streamed in the Netherlands during that period is still unknown.
